Leaving

In about two hours to drive up to camp!!! It's kind of scary that it's so soon. And as excited as I am, I really wish I got more time at HOME this summer. At least the weekend off is still inside these three weeks =] I am incredibly excited to see Nichole, though. And just to get back to Sky High Ranch, because a big portion of my heart is there since I've gone every summer since 3rd grade except for last summer. The sad part is that I think all my counselors I've really liked aren't working there anymore. *sigh* So...I'm all packed and zipped up (which took a while), and despite my lengthy packing list and shopping lists, I feel like I'm forgetting something. I don't honestly believe I am, but it feels like it!!! At least this summer I'll actually be getting mail and care packages from home, and if I do forget something, I can always ask for Dad and Leslie to send it.

Mmm...so. This morning I woke up around 7:15 mainly just because...the sun woke me up and I wasn't too tired. Around 8:00 Dad and I went swimming for the first time at Gold's new swimming pool. It felt so good to swim and get that exercise early in the morning. I honestly feel already like I have more energy than usual. The pool is really nice--saline water, not chlorine, so it feels a lot, lot better. Anyway, then Leslie and I cooked him a nice Father's Day breakfast consisting of blueberry pancakes, eggs, and sausages (for them). And...now I'm just trying to reassure myself that I haven't forgotten anything I want to bring to camp. I don't really know what to do these next two hours. I'll eat a small lunch at some point, but I think I'm mainly just going to really try and enjoy these two hours at home with Dad and Leslie, cause I won't see them for 13 days!!!!!

At this point, it's too late for y'all to give me your address if you want updates. But, I am keeping a handwritten journal at camp and I'll post them on here either that weekend off or when it's all over on July 11th. I hope everyone has an amazing next two weeks, and I'll try to post when I get home! Happy thoughts everyone! Cheers!

Home

Oh, it's so good to be back home. I don't know if anyone can fully understand what I'm trying to say or the feelings I have when I'm back here, but...just the moment I stepped back in this house yesterday, knowing that I was free from my mom's house for 4 weeks, I was a billion times happier. This house really just feels more like home to me. Maybe because it's more stable and I have more things that I've had for a long time. But...no, I'm not much on material. I think it's more the caring and loving atmosphere that I can really and truly feel created by my dad and stepmom. Anyway...I don't know if any of that made sense. Bottom line: I'm so much happier now!!!

We went out to breakfast at the Egg&I this morning, and then when I got back I spent about an hour and a half cleaning out all my drawers. Yes, I can hear your incredulous sighs and "What?!"s from here. I know it seems weird, but I was bored because I'd done all the packing for camp that I could do. Also, I was technically looking for my Girl Scout badge book, which I didn't actually find. Not good, because I'd been meaning to look through the badges and see what I'd done for some of them and do a few this summer. But apparently not. *sigh* It is nice to have clean and organized drawers again. During the school year I just kind of stuff random old papers in there and my organisation system kind of...dies. But I got it back, gaining organisation and recycling about an entire tree (probably a huge hyperbole, but it was a lot of paper!!!)

So. I go to camp tomorrow! I'm really excited. =] Especially to see Nichole, who I haven't seen for almost two summers now. But in the car to breakfast I figured out that when I get my break for a weekend, I'll have 10 5AG videos to watch, 2 PotterCasts, 2 songsfromahat videos, and probably a bunch of other YouTube videos from my subscriptions. Fun, fun!

Remember that for an update on when I leave for camp, see my previous entry. And if you'd like to write me while at camp or like me to write you, give me your address. I sincerely hope everyone is doing well, and I'm sending some of my happiness your way, though the postal system has the full control over when it will get there! Cheers!

Happy Things

Okay, so, this post is actually going to be me being incredibly happy about several things! Yay!

So, as I think I mentioned, from Sunday until Tuesday I was at Camp Lazy Acres with my Girl Scout troop. It was a ton more fun than I expected it to be. I think I'm finally connecting with more people in my own Girl Scout Troop. We went on a beautiful hike (but Karen and I kept going too fast) and I got addicted once again to making lanyards. I can't stop!!! But the best part was that I became friends with a lot of amazing and adorable younger girl scouts. We were the oldest troop, and all the Brownies adored us. It was so cute!!! =] And, I became pretty good friends with one of the other leaders, too.

Umm...right. Other happy thing. I'm back home in less than 32 hours!!!!! Ah, that makes me so dang happy!!!!!!!! Squeeeee!!!!!!!! =] =] And, I go to camp in 3 days and 2 hours. Wow. (The thing at the bottom is a live countdown to when I leave for camp)

Anyway, I have to go let my hair dry and then I'm walking over to my dad's house again to pack for camp. I hope everyone's having a great week so far! Cheers!

Terminus

Is in TWO MONTHS!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!

I mean, on the one hand, YAY! Because that's not very long =] And I'm so excited for Terminus to be here and to meet other HP fans and basically just act crazy with other people who feel the same way I do and are obsessed with a book. But on the other hand, it's kind of scary that it's only two months because that doesn't give me much time! I have to finalize my schedule, for one thing. And I have to organize activities for my Neville and Luna intersection. And I have to do another test pack. And, most importantly, I have to practice, practice, PRACTICE my paper! Eeek!!!!! =[

Oh, but today is awesome because I successfully won three games of solitaire on my computer. This sounds really pathetic, but...I'd never done that until today! Go me!

And........5 DAYS, 19 HOURS, 14 MINUTES UNTIL I'M BACK HOME!!!!!! SQUEE!!!!!!!!

Obama is the Democratic Presidential Candidate!!!!!!!

All right, so this technically happened on Tuesday evening, because with South Dakota and Montana he clinched the number of delegates that he needed. But, I wanted to wait a bit to see what Hillary was going to do and thought I'd post then =D

But, anyway, I was so incredibly happy when I turned on the news and it said that Obama had earned enough delegates to be the presidential candidate. I did a happy dance! =] (And unlike the fiveawesomegirls, I don't do my happy dance all that often. It takes a lot to make me happy enough to do one.) But, what made me even happier yesterday evening was the news that Hillary said she would suspend her campaign and support Obama. As much as I dislike her, I really respect her for realizing that he did, in fact, have the nomination, and if she stayed in the race then it would just cause bigger divisions in the Democratic party. Which, in the long run, would hurt the candidate in November, most likely.

Yay! Go Barack!!!!!! =] =] =] Now, all he has to do is choose a really good running mate. I'm good with John Edwards or Bill Richardson...but I honestly don't think he's going to choose Hillary, because, in my opinion, that would cause him to lose some supporters.

In other news, it's raining! I love the rain, but I was planning on walking to Dad's today, and now it depends on whether it clears up enough this afternoon. *sigh*

02 June 2008

It's June

Well, it was actually June yesterday but I really didn't have anything at all that was exciting to say. I still don't, to be honest, but...I'm sorry. I'm just dreadfully bored, okay? There isn't much for y'all to get caught up on in my life at the moment, but I guess I'll just describe what I did yesterday and this morning and then what I hope to do the rest of this week...

Yesterday morning I really didn't do much of anything. *sigh* But, in the afternoon I went to the mall with my mom and sister, which wasn't exactly a pleasant experience. I got a blue shirt and a brown short dress from Wet Seal and then got the stuff I need for camp: a new poncho (because I don't know where mine is), silverware (just in case it turns out I can't find mine when I look at Dad's house), a whistle, insect repellent wipes, batteries, and an alarm clock that doesn't require being plugged in. After we got back I managed to finish I Capture the Castle, which is now officially very high on my list of favorite books. It was beautiful!!! And, then I watched the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie on TV because I didn't have anything better to do.

This morning I cleaned Neville's cage and my room in the hope it would make me a little happier with being here, but it didn't really help. I have a clean room now, but it's still not HOME. *bigger sigh* I think I'm going to go watch more TV soon because I have no life and no friends who actually want to do stuff with me.

Umm...and I'm for sure going to the gym class tomorrow. That's only in the evening though, so I'm either going to walk down to Barnes & Noble or to Dad's to get a few things I'll need for camping this weekend. It feels really pathetic to walk down to B&N by myself, but that's who I am.

Erm...so this sounds really desperate, but...shoot me a message if you read this, because I'm dying here. 11 days, 4 hours until I'm back HOME! =] Cheers!
